I recently visited Improve International, a small company based in Wroughton, Wiltshire, which despite the current economic situation is busy expanding across the UK and the EU.
Improve International offers training programmes for qualified veterinary surgeons in order to keep their skills up to date. The model has proved so successful in the UK that they have exported it to the continent and now offer their services in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany and across Scandinavia. I met with David Babbington, the Managing Director of Improve International, to hear about their plans for the future.
“We currently offer a wide range of qualifications to skilled professionals, and are now looking at ways to ensure these are recognised across Europe,” commented David. “If this happens then we would hope to expand further in the years ahead. So we were delighted to meet with Ashley Fox and discuss the best way forward.”
Like many readers, I am constantly bombarded by the media with a never ending stream of negative economic news so it was very heartening to visit a company that is looking to take any opportunity to expand.
In order to kick start an economic recovery we need British small and medium size businesses to grow, to increase their profits, to take on more workers and trade across the world. I intend to do everything I can to help South West businesses, like Improve International, become even more successful.
Congratulations to Improve International for all their hard work and I wish them all the best in their future endeavours.
