With the wealth of proposals and announcements in the Chancellor's Autumn Statement today it is often easy to miss some of the detail. I for one am delighted to see The Chancellor make a commitment on behalf of this Government to reduce the burden that EU regulation places on businesses.
The Government will be publishing a report into 16 separate examples of European Union law which need to repealed or reformed. These include the Working Time Directive, the National Emissions Ceilings Directive and the Clinical Trials Directive amongst others.
Whilst this is just a start, and I would like to see the repatriation of a much wider array of powers, it is still good to see the Government on the side businesses and of those creating the jobs and wealth in this country.
